These are the accommodations most often requested, but other options may be available.<\/p>\n<h3>Classroom Accommodations<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Allowing the student to record lectures<\/li>\n<li>Class materials or textbook in an alternate format<\/li>\n<li>Alternate format for instructions\n<ul>\n<li>Oral and written<\/li>\n<li>Repeated, reworded, clarified, or simplified<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Preferential classroom seating<\/li>\n<li>Accessible classroom and in-class furniture<\/li>\n<li>Extended time for assignments and tasks<\/li>\n<li>Copy of lecture or class notes provided before class<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Exam Accommodations<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Extended time for time-based assessments<\/li>\n<li>Use of a calculator<\/li>\n<li>Alternate format for instructions\n<ul>\n<li>Oral and written<\/li>\n<li>Repeated, clarified, reworded, or simplified<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Post test review with faculty to explain improvement<\/li>\n<li>Alternative location for testing*<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students who plan to use approved exam accommodations must submit a request through the Simplicity Accommodate student portal for each exam or quiz. This process allows the Office of Disability Services to coordinate testing space and ensure that approved accommodations are in place.<\/p>\n<p>To request an exam accommodation, students should first inform their instructor of their intent to use testing accommodations for the upcoming exam or quiz. Students must then log in to their Accommodate account, select \u201cTesting Room,\u201d and submit a \u201cNew Booking Request\u201d for the appropriate course by following the on-screen prompts.<\/p>\n<p>Requests should be submitted at least 10 business days prior to the exam. Submitting requests as early as possible is strongly encouraged, especially if exam dates are known at the beginning of the semester. While students have the right to choose whether or not to use their approved exam accommodations, late requests may limit the availability of preferred testing times or locations.<\/p>\n<p>All exam accommodation requests are reviewed by a staff member in the Office of Disability Services.
