  {"id":320,"date":"2012-07-18T16:07:51","date_gmt":"2012-07-18T16:07:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saintpeters.edu\/information-technology-services\/?page_id=320"},"modified":"2017-01-23T07:40:49","modified_gmt":"2017-01-23T12:40:49","slug":"laptop-only-wireless-registration","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.saintpeters.edu\/its\/documentation\/laptop-only-wireless-registration\/","title":{"rendered":"Laptop &#038; Mobile Devices Wireless Setup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In order to use our Campus Wireless Network, your computer must be registered into the network.\u00a0It must also have an up to date Anti-Virus program and have all Critical MS updates posted.\u00a0 We only setup laptop computers to the University wireless network that are free of P2P applications.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are reported wireless connectivity problems with tablets &amp; laptops with Windows 8.\u00a0 Make sure to run all the Updates &amp; upgrade it to 8.1 or downgrade to the more reliable Windows 7.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The following will not work on our\u00a0University wireless network:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wireless printers<\/li>\n<li>Chromecast<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the Resident Halls ONLY:  For student residents who would like to utilize their gaming consoles, Amazon FireStick, Apple TV and Internet TVs on the wireless network, follow this set of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saintpeters.edu\/residence-life\/current-students\/gaming-console-policy-procedure\/\">instructions<\/a> instead. <\/p>\n<p>Select the appropriate wireless network of the University &amp; use your username &amp; your current University network password.<\/p>\n<p>A.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 SPU-STUDENTS for students<br \/>\nB.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 SPU-EMPLOYEES for Faculty &amp; staff<br \/>\nC. \u00a0\u00a0 SPU-GUEST for visitors&#8217; use during special events only<\/p>\n<p>For Mobile devices, please refer to the instructions below:<\/p>\n<h3>For iOS (iPhones, iPods or iPads) devices:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Go to the Wi-Fi Setting, and select either SPU-EMPLOYEES or SPU-STUDENTS , as it applies to you<\/li>\n<li>Enter your credentials \u2013 these are the same network credentials you use to log in to a computer<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-848\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saintpeters.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/blogs.dir\/129\/files\/2012\/07\/image001.jpg\" alt=\"image001\" width=\"235\" height=\"420\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.saintpeters.edu\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/129\/files\/2012\/07\/image001.jpg 235w, https:\/\/www.saintpeters.edu\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/129\/files\/2012\/07\/image001-174x311.jpg 174w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 235px) 100vw, 235px\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You will be prompted to accept a certificate.
