Jersey City, N.J. \u2013 March 3, 2025 –<\/b> Saint Peter\u2019s University is proud to announce it is the first college or university in New Jersey to offer full degree programs taught in Spanish. Beginning in August 2025, students will have the option to enroll in the Associate of Science in Business Management and the Master of Business Administration with a concentration in business analytics, both fully offered in Spanish.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Saint Peter\u2019s University recently celebrated its 25th anniversary as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) in 2024. The University was the first college or university to attain HSI status in New Jersey and in the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. Currently, 41 percent of full-time undergraduates at Saint Peter\u2019s are Hispanic.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur Jesuit Catholic mission calls us to serve students who seek opportunities and a gateway to better, purpose-driven lives,\u201d said Hubert Benitez, D.D.S., Ph.D., president of Saint Peter\u2019s University. \u201cThis initiative reflects our unwavering commitment to innovation and to meeting the evolving needs of both our current and prospective students; some of which have expressed a desire to pursue a degree that is offered in their native language. Through its Spanish-language degree offerings, Saint Peter\u2019s responds to the needs of a vital segment of its community.”\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Benitez, a native of Colombia, will teach one of the courses offered in Spanish during the fall semester.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Associate of Science in Business Management can be completed in as little as two years of full-time study and will provide a strong liberal arts foundation, critical thinking skills and leadership development. The Master of Business Administration is offered 100 percent online and the STEM-designated business analytics concentration equips students with in-demand data analytics and business strategy skills. <\/span>These programs are the University\u2019s first, with plans to expand bilingual and dual-language degree options at the graduate and undergraduate levels, incorporating instruction in Spanish or a combination of Spanish and English.<\/span><\/p>\n

In New Jersey, linguistic diversity is significant. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, approximately 33.3 percent of residents in the state speak a language other than English at home with Spanish being the most common non-English language spoken at home by about 17.3 percent.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

La Universidad fue la primera en obtener la designaci\u00f3n de HSI en Nueva Jersey y en la Asociaci\u00f3n de Colegios y Universidades Jesuitas (AJCU). El t\u00edtulo de asociado en ciencias en Administraci\u00f3n de Empresas puede completarse en tan solo dos a\u00f1os de estudio a tiempo completo y proporcionar\u00e1 una s\u00f3lida base en artes liberales, habilidades de pensamiento cr\u00edtico y desarrollo de liderazgo. La maestr\u00eda en Administraci\u00f3n de Empresas se ofrece 100\u00a0% en l\u00ednea y la especializaci\u00f3n en An\u00e1lisis de Negocios, reconocida dentro del campo STEM (Ciencias, Tecnolog\u00eda, Ingenier\u00eda y Matem\u00e1ticas), capacita a los estudiantes con competencias en an\u00e1lisis de datos y estrategia empresarial de alta demanda. En Nueva Jersey, la diversidad ling\u00fc\u00edstica es importante.
