Jersey City<\/strong>, N.J. – <\/strong>Saint Peter’s College today signed an agreement with Drexel University College of Medicine and Saint Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J., officially beginning a B.A.\/M.D. program. The B.A.\/M.D. program is designed to provide qualified undergraduates at Saint Peter’s College with early acceptance to Drexel University College of Medicine and invaluable research experience while working with physicians  at Saint Peter’s University Hospital.  <\/div>\n

Highly qualified, undergraduate premedical students will be conditionally admitted to the program as sophomores. After having satisfied program requirements, including a clinical educational research experience at Saint Peter’s University Hospital, and upon graduating from Saint Peter’s College, students will enter Drexel University College of Medicine. As medical students, a portion of their clinical clerkship and clinical rotation experiences will be completed at Saint Peter’s University Hospital. <\/div>\n

“We are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to join Saint Peter’s University Hospital and Drexel University College of Medicine in this exciting medical school program, which should prove to be extremely valuable for our students and the state’s health care system as a whole,” said Velda Goldberg, Ph.D<\/span>., Dean of the College of Arts and Science\/ School of Business Administration at Saint Peter’s College. “The hallmarks of the program, early acceptance into medical school and participation in hospital research alongside physicians, provide a unique opportunity for students to know very early that they are, indeed, on their way to achieving a medical degree from the nation’s largest private medical school in the country.”   <\/div>\n
